ABOUT THE ROLE We have a great opportunity for an experienced Technical Field Service Coordinator with a mechanical background to join our busy Metro Field Service Team. In this full-time permanent role, you will support a team of coordinators & technicians to schedule and execute the service and repair of Caterpillar machinery to support our customers in the 'front-line'. Communication & technical ability is paramount to ensure we provide the highest level of customer service and value for money to our valued customers. Your typical day in this role will include: - Providing sound technical advice and support to our customers, technicians and co-ordinators across the Melbourne Metro region
- Assisting with the triage and prioritisation of service jobs for our technicians in the field
- Assisting in the set up and management of major works, including organising parts lists, tooling & equipment and managing external contractors where required
- Liaising with our technicians & co-ordinators to assist with planning, execution and follow up of service and repair works
- Working directly with Supervisors to ensure work planning is optimised
- Day to day invoicing and work in progress responsibilities
ABOUT YOU You are a qualified diesel mechanic with CAT Dealer experience, a self-starter who is willing to go the extra mile to get a “winning” result for all and a terrific collaborator and listener, with an ability to think on your feet and prioritise and complete multiple tasks simultaneously. You will ideally have the following skills, experience and attributes: - Qualified Diesel Mechanic with CAT Dealer Experience
- Co-Ordination / planning experience (preferred, but not essential)
- Excellent verbal communication and rapport-building skills
- Have an empathetic approach with a calm disposition
- Proven conflict resolution abilities under pressure
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with moving targets
- Experience working with various computer systems – financial and operational
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
