Field Service Diesel Technician - Resident

We are seeking an experienced Resident Field Service Technician to work as part of our busy Field Service Team based in Mansfield.

  

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Reporting to the Service Coordinator - Wodonga, the role is fast paced and  autonomous. It would suit someone who enjoys the challenge of customer service and problem solving as to ensure customer satisfaction & value for money, whilst maintaining a safe working environment.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing excellent customer service 
  • Trouble shooting, repairs (same day) and maintenance on varied CAT equipment such as earthmoving, construction, agriculture and trucks
  • Ensuring accurate service reports are completed
  • Managing all parts that are ordered for jobs
  • Ensuring all parts are credited immediately if they are deemed unnecessary for the job  
  • Ensuring appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are applied at all times
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed within set time frames
  • Comply with all company safety, health & environment procedures
  • Ensure the company property & tools maintained and returned as required
  • Maintaining a high level of presentation standards

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

To be considered for this role we are looking for the following skills, experience & attributes:

 

Essential requirements:

  • Legally entitled to live & work in Australia
  • Qualified Diesel Technician
  • Minimum 2 years post trade experience
  • Proven ability to be self motivated and to work unsupervised (whilst being part of a remote team)
  • Strong mechanical ability essential
  • Have advanced mechanical diagnostic skills
  • Committed to delivering superior customer service
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude
  • Reliable & punctual
  • Physically able to lift manually 20kgs, drive and operate plant & machinery, work in varied conditions (outdoors, heat, dust, cold etc), sit/stand for extended periods
  • A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures

 Desirable requirements: 

  • Familiarity of Caterpillar computer diagnostics
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • DBS, SupportPoint, Lotus Notes, SIS experience is highly regarded
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Current Heavy Vehicle Licence
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Working knowledge of parts & service systems

 

The package includes an attractive base rate incorporating a weekly Resident Service Technician allowance, fully equipped service vehicle, iPhone and laptop. To ensure we provide excellence in customer service, there is an expectation of after hours work as required.
