Diesel Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Technician with a background in agricultural machinery with a particular focus on tractors, combines, haytools and tillage equipment to work from our busy Shepparton branch.


Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Carrying out workshop repairs and maintenance on a full range of agricultural equipment
  • Completion of all paperwork relating to the completion of jobs, including time sheets, service reports, test sheets, JSEA / HIRA and expense vouchers
  • Providing quality customer service at all times, and acting as a focal point for customer queries
  • Assisting with the preparation of quotes and estimates
  • Assisting with machine demonstrations and Field Days as required.




To be considered for this role we are looking for the following skills, experience & attributes:


Essential requirements:

  • Legally entitled to live & work in Australia
  • Qualified Diesel Technician
  • Minimum 2 years post trade experience
  • Strong mechanical ability essential
  • Experience in mechanical diagnosis, servicing and repairs of agricultural equipment
  • Flexibility to work in other areas of the Service Department as the work demand requires
  • Committed to delivering superior customer service
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
  • Reliable & punctual
  • Physically able to lift manually 20kgs, drive and operate plant & machinery, work in varied conditions (outdoors, heat, dust, cold etc), sit/stand for extended periods
  • A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures


Desirable requirements: 

  • High risk Licence - Dogging and Forklift
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Working knowledge of parts & service systems
  • Previous supervision or mentoring of trades assistants/apprentices
