Diesel Technician - Team Leader

Reporting to the Branch Manager, we are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on and customer focused Diesel Technician - Team Leader to lead, coach and develop an assigned team of Diesel Technicians based from our busy Laverton Rental workshop.


Key responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Supervise the workmanship and performance of assigned Diesel Technicians
  • Maintain the established Contamination Control Culture
  • Drive safety awareness
  • Manage the flow of work and use of personnel
  • Liaise with Service Coordinators to keep customer updated on job progress
  • Work in consultation with the Branch Manager to minimise expense and maximise profitability
  • Leading by example and being an advocate for our core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence and Commitment
  • Creating a positive, value added perception that will differentiate William Adams from the competition 




To be considered for this role we are looking for the following skills, experience & attributes:


Essential requirements:

  • Legally entitled to live & work in Australia
  • Qualified Diesel Technician
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar role
  • Proven ability to lead a team including apprentices
  • Ability to liaise with customers, peers, co-workers and all levels of management
  • Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Committed to delivering superior customer service
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude
  • Reliable & punctual
  • Physically able to lift manually 20kgs, drive and operate plant & machinery, work in varied conditions (outdoors, heat, dust, cold etc), sit/stand for extended periods
  • A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures

Desirable requirements: 

  • Familiarity of Caterpillar computer diagnostics
  • Has previously worked on CAT machinery and attachments
  • High risk Licence - Dogging and Forklift
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • DBS, SupportPoint, Lotus Notes, SIS experience is highly regarded
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Working knowledge of parts & service systems
