Field Service Technician

A full time position is available for a Field Service Technician in our Power Systems department based in Clayton.




The position offers the opportunity to join an area of the business primarily focussed on supporting diesel and gas powered engines operating in power generation, industrial, petroleum and marine applications. You will also need the skills and capability to work within the broader Field Service team to support CAT Earthmoving machines in the field environment when required.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Carrying out same day field service, repairs and maintenance of Industrial engines, earthmoving machines and other industrial equipment
  • Completing all job relevant paperwork, including Take 5’s, JSEA’s, time sheets, service reports, test sheets, parts returns, warranty, SOS labels, and other relevant documents as required
  • Providing quality customer service at all times, and being the focal point for customer queries when required
  • Compliance with all customer safety requirements when working at customer premises



To be considered for this role we are looking for the following skills, experience & attributes:

  • Mechanical trade qualification with experience in fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair.
  • Strong industrial engine and earth moving maintenance experience
  • Highly developed communication and customer liaison skills
  • Sound conflict resolution, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Dedicated commitment to safety and quality work practices

You must also be willing to undertake specialist training to support CAT products in offshore applications and carry out basic electrical repairs. You will be a front line company representative and are expected to uphold a professional image at all times, provide the highest level of service to our customers, work overtime, participate in our on-call roster and attend to after hour emergency call-outs when required.
