ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician / Mechanic / Fitter to work in our busy Burnie workshop. Various roster options are available, these include:

  • 5on x 2off (Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm)
  • 4on x 4off (6am - 6pm)
  • 7on x 7off (6am - 6pm)

Reporting to the relevant section Service Supervisor, you will be assisting with the repairs and maintenance of all types of CAT equipment and components, maintaining a safe working environment for all colleagues and ensuring customer satisfaction & value for money. 

 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Trouble shooting & repairs of all types of CAT equipment and components
  • Guide & mentor trade assistants & apprentices
  • Ensuring accurate service reports are completed
  • Comply with all company safety, health & environment procedures

ABOUT YOU 

 

To be considered for this role we are looking for the following skills, experience & attributes:

 

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified Diesel Technician
  • Minimum 2 years post trade experience
  • Physically able to lift manually 20kgs, drive and operate plant & machinery, work in varied conditions (outdoors, heat, dust, cold etc), sit/stand for extended periods
  • A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures

 

Desirable requirements: 

  • Familiarity of Caterpillar computer diagnostics
  • Previous experience working on CAT machinery and attachments
  • High risk Licence - Dogging and Forklift
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • BDS, SupportPoint, SIS experience is highly regarded
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Working knowledge of parts & service systems
  • Previous supervision or mentoring of trades assistants/apprentices
