Team Leader - Workshop

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on and customer focused Team Leader to lead, coach and develop an assigned team of diesel technicians at our busy Traralgon workshop. 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will be assisting with the repairs and maintenance of all types of CAT equipment and components, maintaining a safe working environment for all colleagues and ensuring customer satisfaction & value for money.  

 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supervising the workmanship and performance of assigned diesel technicians
  • Trouble shooting and repairs of all types of CAT equipment and components
  • Maintaining the established Contamination Control Culture
  • Driving safety awareness to achieve our company target of less than 5 LTIFR per annum.
  • Manage the flow of work to ensure quality outputs as per customer expectations.
  • Liaising with Service Coordinators on scheduled or job variations and keeping customers updated on job progress
  • Leading by example and being an advocate for our core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, Sustainability and Commitment

ABOUT YOU  

To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills, experience & attributes: 

 

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Previous supervisory / management experience
  • Physically able to lift manually 20kgs, drive and operate plant & machinery, work in varied conditions (outdoors, heat, dust, cold etc.), sit/stand for extended periods
  • Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office suite 
  • A strong commitment to safety, health and environment procedures

Desirable requirements: 

  • Familiarity of Caterpillar machinery and computer diagnostics
  • High risk Licence - Dogging and Forklift
  • Working knowledge of parts and service systems
