Laboratory Supervisor

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 

A very exciting position has become available at our Clayton Fluid Analysis Laboratory as a Laboratory Supervisor.  This newly created position will be key in assisting our Laboratory Services Manager to manage the day to day operation of the laboratory and lead a team of technicians through continuous improvement initiatives due to significant growth in our business.

 

You will lead a team of professionals in our state-of-the-art laboratory, by coaching and developing further skills that will sustain our future growth and business plans. Your ability to motivate and implement continuous improvement initiatives will be highly valued.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing of all key personnel in the lab
  • Striving to continuously achieve day to day operational performance to ensure turnaround times are achieved
  • Maintaining a safe work environment by identifying and coaching the team on all hazards, incidents and non-conformance's
  • Leading by example and being an advocate for our core values of Integrity, Commitment, Teamwork, Excellence and Sustainability

ABOUT YOU 

 

You will be a proven leader with a genuine interest in motivating and inspiring a team of professionals.  This role will suit someone that has previous leadership experience in a laboratory, is extremely ambitious and passionate about safety and continuous improvement and ready to take the next step in their career.

 

We highly encourage you to apply if you have the following:

  • Self-confidence, authority and enthusiasm with natural leadership ability
  • A Degree in Science or equivalent
  • Operational experience within a laboratory environment
  • The ability to identify and analyse problems and coming up with solutions
  • A proven track record to engage, motivate and manage a successful team
  • Be a good listener with the ability to think on your feet
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including MS Office
  • Six Sigma experience or equivalent process improvement would be advantageous
