William Adams are currently on the lookout for an experienced and highly motivated Senior (New Equipment) Diesel Technician to work out of our Clayton branch. This is a full-time permanent position, working on a 7 days on, 7 days off roster (Wednesday to Tuesday).  Opportunity to create work/life/balance!

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Reporting to the Service Supervisor this role requires a strong earthmoving background, excellent diagnostic skills and above average technical knowledge. You will still enjoy being on the tools and being on the floor in the workshop.  Good customer service skills are a must with the ability to demonstrate a sound level of initiative and self-motivation with proven ability to work unsupervised.

What a typical day in the role will look like:

• Carrying out service, repairs and maintenance of Cat equipment
• Assisting and being a mentor for the apprentices and service technicians
• Technical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills including diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on various Cat earthmoving equipment
• Compiling and completion of all paperwork relating to the completion of jobs
• Opening/closing and invoicing Service Work Orders
• Providing quality customer service at all times

What skills and experience we are looking for:

• A fully qualified Diesel Technician with prior experience working on earthmoving equipment
• The ability to mentor, motivate and coach apprentices and technicians
• Understanding of computer systems, including Microsoft office
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Committed to delivering superior customer service
• A can-do positive attitude
• Effective time management and ability to work unsupervised
• A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures
